PERMANENT MAKEUP

Permanent Makeup is the process of depositing colour pigment beneath the surface of the skin using disposable microblades or a digital rotary machine, to produce the appearance of hair strokes, makeup, or to enhance the natural features of the face. Permanent Makeup, is also referred to as semi-permanent makeup, cosmetic tattooing or micropigmentation.

As a precaution, you may NOT have any Cosmetic Tattoo procedures if:
You are under the age of 18
You get Keloid scars
You are pregnant or nursing
You have been on Accutane within 1 year
You generally have skin irritations/problematic symptoms of any kind such as blemishes, pimples, rash, psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, sunburn on the area of procedure.
You are using Retin-A or Retinols. Be off 7 days before appointment and avoid 30 days after procedure.
Diabetic (consult your doctor)
Have HIV or Hepatitis or any other viral infections and/or diseases
Undergoing Chemotherapy (Consult your doctor)
Epilepsy
A Pacemaker or major heart problems
Had an Organ transplant
You generally don’t heal well and develop infections easily
If your old tattoo is too dark (Please contact us and send a picture of your current tattoo for us to see how faded it is and determine if we are able to do a cover-up or removal if necessary)
The beginning of your appointment will include a consultation where we will determine and confirm the best service for you.
Microblading will work best on these types of skin:
Dry skin type with tiny pores. Skin that’s thin but not super thin (Similar to the skin of a grape). This type of skin is usually not very sensitive with non-translucent fair ivory skin tone and doesn’t bleed easily.
Normal to combination skin-type with small pores can be a bit oily to dry and sensitive or not sensitive (Similar to the skin of an apple). This type of skin is usually non-translucent and can range from light to dark skin tones, young or mature skin and doesn’t bleed easily.
Normal to Oily skin with medium pores. Skin that is thicker and abit oily (Similar to the skin of a lime). This type of skin is usually non-translucent and can range from light to dark skin tones, young or mature skin and doesn’t bleed easily.
Microblading will NOT work well for these types of skin and should opt for Ombré or Powder Brows instead:
Thick oily skin with large pores, tends to bleed easily (Similar to the skin of an orange peel or grapefruit). This skin texture and constant production of oil will cause hair strokes to heal with a thicker diffused look and will not last as long as with Microblading.
Super-thin, soft, hypersensitive, skin with barely any upper skin layer that is crepey and lacking in collagen (Similar to the skin of an over ripened tomato). Usually translucent tiny pores and can have rosacea or dermatitis. This type of skin bleeds VERY easily and has a harder time healing. Hair strokes will appear more ashy, blurred and patchy. Ombré or Powder Brows will sit in this type skin a lot warmer and heal more evenly.
*If you have an old tattoo that is still quite dark, the strokes will blend right into the old tattoo and results will not look as crisp as going over blank skin. If removal is not an option for you, Powder, Ombré or Combo Brows may be a better option to cover up, colour correct and blend in your old tattoo.
We use a strong topical anesthetic cream with 5% Lidocaine for numbing before and throughout the procedure for maximum comfort. Pain threshold levels will vary from person to person. Some say it feels like mild scratching, while others feel either more sensitive or less sensitive.
If you require something stronger, you may ask your doctor for a prescription of 10% lidocaine numbing cream (please make sure the consistency is cream-like, NOT Vaseline-like, as the greasiness will alter the markings for your brow shape).
Some things to keep in mind:
Having this service performed during your menstral cycle may increase discomfort.
If you are a frequent smoker, the topical anesthetic will not last as long.
If you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, be aware that this may affect your sensitivty tolerance to the procedure.
You may bring 1-2 Extra strength Tylenol to take after the consultation for additional comfort if you have a lower pain tolerance.
PLEASE SEND A CLEAR PHOTO OF YOUR OLD TATTOO FRONT ON AND WITH GOOD LIGHTING PRIOR TO BOOKING AN APPOINTMENT SO WE CAN DETERMINE WHICH TREATMENT WILL BE BEST FOR YOU!
Please note that your old tattoo must be quite faded in order to achieve good results with a cover-up. Going over an old tattoo that is very saturated or has an extremely bad shape will give you disappointing results, so it is best to do removal on the old tattoo first, before getting a new Permanent Makeup procedure done. Previously tattooed areas will almost always require additional sessions and will be charged accordingly. Some special cases may be considered. Please contact us with any further questions.
If we are covering up an old tattoo previously done by another artist, please come with realistic expectations of what is possible to achieve. If the former tattoo is extremely uneven, dramatic in shape, or very dark, it may be able to achieve your exact desired shape, symmetry, or colour.
For Microblading: Any hairstrokes done within the old tattoo may blend in to the old tattoo and will not be as crisp as going over blank skin would be, giving an appearance of unevenness in colour and the old tattoo may still show through the new hairstrokes. Therefore, specifications on an exact colour after healed is not guaranteed. If there is a build up of scar tissue, the strokes may not hold as well in those areas. If you want to correct the colour of your old tattoo (that has faded to red/orange/blue/gray) so it doesn’t end up showing between the hairstrokes, colour correcting can be an option by shading in the area with a colour correcting pigment. Hair strokes will still not be as crisp with colour correcting. Please keep in mind that the pigments we use are semi-permanent and do fade over time, which means that the colour of your old tattoo will still be there as our pigment fades. You will need touch-ups regularly to maintain a neutralized colour. Ombré or Powder brows may be a better option for your cover up. We can decide at your appointment what will work best for you.
For Ombré or Powder Brows, Lips or Eyeliner: If you are choosing a different colour than the old tattoo, it may result in a 2 toned effect. Therefore, we must colour correct the old pigment to try and blend in the new colour. Colour correcting will not make a dark tattoo much lighter, we can only adjust the tone of the old tattoo to warmer or cooler. Specific color requests are not guaranteed depending on the colour of the old tattoo. Of course, doing a removal first, will give you better results. Removal can NOT be done on old eyeliner tattoos.
For optimal results, removal is always the best option to achieve the shape and colour you want.
All options will be discussed during the consultation, and tattooing will not start until the final design is agreed upon.
For Lip Blush:
You may NOT receive this treatment during an outbreak of cold sores. Please be aware that if you are prone to cold sores, you may awaken an outbreak following this treatment. To prevent or minimize such breakouts, please take anti-herpes medication such as Zivorax, 5 days before, and on the day of, then 5 days after, or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist.
No injections 4 weeks before and after this treatment.

You will experience dry peeling lips for up to 2 weeks.
For Eyeliner:
You must discontinue use of lash growth serums one month prior to treatment.

You must remove all lash extensions prior to this treatment.

You may NOT receive this treatment if you have an eye infection or stye.

In rare cases, you may develop a histamine reaction and the area around your eyes will be very puffy and swollen. This is easily alleviated with an over-the-counter anti-histamine medication.

Your vision is not affected by Eyeliner procedures, but you may wish to have someone drive you home.
For Eyebrows:
Botox should be done 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after the procedure.

If your natural eyebrows are dramatically uneven, you may have to give up a significant amount of your eyebrow hairs or choose a much thicker shape to achieve better symmetry. If those options are not desired and symmetry is not a concern for you, you may opt to tattoo over the natural flow of each eyebrow.

Please review the entire Pre-Care form and plan your schedule accordingly. Pre-Care form can be found under “Forms” Tab.
The first appointment is about structure, design, and building a layer of layer of pigment for a very natural look and a more defined shape.
Your initial treatment must be followed up with a touch-up appointment to fill in areas that may not have healed properly.
For most clients, a minimum of two treatments are usually needed, at least 6-8 weeks apart. With most procedures, the colour looks dramatically lighter after the first week. Some clients prefer this, while others opt for a bolder look. At the second session, we will assess the colour retention and make adjustments as necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your Permanent Makeup does not heal perfectly after the first session, do not worry! We can always go darker and add more density at your next appointment.
Some may need a 3rd session to complete the process. Especially if you have little to no hair to begin with, have scar tissue, oily skin, didn’t follow aftercare properly, or we are trying to cover up an old tattoo.
Naturally, your Permanent Makeup will fade over time and should be refreshed every 1-3 years for maintenance – they do not wash off. However, this does not mean that your Permanent Makeup will completely disappear. Depending on your skin and health, overtime your Permanent Makeup may still leave a soft residual of pigment behind.
Frequency of sessions depends on a number of factors including: the pigment colour used (lighter colours fade faster), lifestyle (sun exposure, smoking), iron deficiency, strong immune systems, oily skin, expoure to salt water, and if any chemical peels, exfoliants or lightening/brightening skin care products come into contact with treated areas. Please note that final results CAN NOT be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. We will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your second session and make any necessary adjustments. Multiple sessions are normal for Permanent Makeup procedures, with each new procedure requiring a minimum of 2 visits. Your second session can be booked no sooner or later than 6-8 weeks after the initial appointment. Additional sessions will be charged according to our current pricing.
Some other factors that will affect your Permanent Makeup are:
Sun exposure: The sun will extremely soften the look of your tattoo, so sunblock should be used (once healed).
The regeneration of skin cells: The longer the regeneration takes, the longer the pigment holds.
The speed at which the skin absorbs the pigment: The slower the absorption, the longer the pigment will hold.
The choice of colour: Some colours fade quicker than others (A blonde colour will fade quicker than a dark brown colour).
The area of treatment: Enhancements to the face, for example, fade more quickly due to constant exposure.
Bleeding during the procedure: Any bleeding during the tattooing procedure will reduce the amount of pigment absorption. Alcohol and certain medications act as blood-thinners and should not be taken prior to and following your appointment.
Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be darker and bolder in colour and more sharply defined. This can last up to a week or two (depending on your skin) after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place. The treated area may feel a bit like sunburn afterwards but there should be minimal discomfort. Redness and swelling are minimal and normal.
During the initial healing period, there will be scabbing and flaking of the skin. Do NOT pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.
The complete healing process takes about 4-8 weeks, at which time the true color of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating. Wait at least 4 weeks to see the true color, as it seems to take on new strength, and it is only after 6-8 weeks that your touch-up/adjustment can be done. You must avoid sun exposure for at least 4 weeks before and after your appointments.
Please review the entire Aftercare form and plan your schedule accordingly. Aftercare form can be found under “Forms” tab.
Once Healed:
A good sunscreen should be applied daily AFTER healing and is required to help keep colour true. As with any tattoo, sun exposure will make the colour discolour or soften faster. Wear large sunglasses and a hat for further protection. Rinse and dry the area thoroughly when in contact with chlorine.
Fading speed depends on your skintype, lifestyle, sun exposure, pigment colour used, broken capillaries, and if any chemical peels were done after your procedure.
If you are planning a chemical peel, laser treatment or other medical procedure, please inform the technician that you have had a Permanent Makeup procedure. Careful application must be taken to avoid affecting the tattooed area.
There are no guarantees if you fail to take care of your Permanent Makeup.
Chemicals found in makeup and cleansers may alter the colour of the pigment and affect the healing process, so it is best to wash with fresh water, avoiding the treated area AFTER 1 week has passed since your appointment.
No makeup on eyebrows, eyes or lips (depending on which procedure(s) you had done) for at least two weeks, but everywhere else is fine.

We use iron oxide pigments. These pigments fade over time as your body will naurally metabolize it. They are considered the safest semi-permanent pigments to use for the skin.

EYELASH EXTENSIONS

Please arrive without any eye makeup and avoid oily products around the eye area. This will minimize the clean up time during the appointment and allow more time for lashing! It will also help the adhesive bond better.

Your lashes generally last between 2 to 3 weeks depending on your lash growth cycle, daily activities, skincare routine and eyelash care.

We recommend avoiding oil based products around the area and getting a fill every 2 to 3 weeks. A good indicator of when to schedule a fill, is when your extensions are 50% gone. If you wait too long, your eyelash extensions will fall out and you will require both a lash removal service at an additional charge and a full set.
During the first 24 hours, NO.
After the first 24 hours, YES. The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise etc. It is advised to keep your lashes clean by gently cleansing the area with an oil free cleanser to avoid sebum or makeup build up and to prevent premature shedding. Special care is required and it is advised not to rub your eyes aggressively, but overall maintenance is low.
– Do NOT get eyes wet or shower for 24hrs
– Avoid steam, sauna & sweating for 24hrs
– Avoid strong heat, such as ovens/BBQs
– Do NOT rub or pull on extensions
– AVOID mascara, makeup, and makeup remover around eyes
– AVOID oil-based creams around eyes
– AVOID eyelash curlers
– Only use extension-safe mascaras
– Gently clean extensions with oil-free cleanser daily to prevent infection/pre-mature lash extension fall out, pat lashes dry, brush with clean spoolie brush
– Do NOT sleep on your stomach
– Book a fill every 2-3 weeks (ensure you have no less than 40% of your lashes left over at your appointment, otherwise you will be charged for New Set)
There are no guarantees if you fail to take care of the health of your Eyelash Extensions and eyelashes.
As long as you treat your lash extensions with care, Eyelash Extensions will not hurt nor damage your natural lashes when done properly.

Your extensions will not cause your natural lashes to come out, but when your natural lash has reached the end of its growth cycle, the extension will come off with your natural lash.
Our adhesive is:
– Latex/Formaldehyde Free
– Low in Fumes
– Great for sensitive eyes
– Flexible, wont get brittle and break the natural lash
Our lashes are:
– FAUX Mink
It is important to schedule fills regularly, while paying attention to your nautral lash growth cycle, as you will be charged for both a removal and new extension service if you have ANY LESS than 40% of your Eyelash Extensions attached.

The average person will fill their lashes every 2-3 weeks or so, depending on the style of extensions (classic, hybrid, volume).
The average person has 80-150 lashes per eye. Our goal is to attach extensions to every lash available. You can expect your own lashes to naturally shed about 2-5 lashes a day. If we averaged that to 3 lashes per day, you would be losing:
– 1 Week: 21 lashes
– 2 Weeks: 42 lashes
– 3 Weeks: 63 lashes
If you add in internal and external factors, it could be more or less. Everyone sheds differently, and sometimes you have less than the time before. This explains why one person can go longer in between fills compared to another. This person may also have more lashes.
There are no guarantees if you fail to take care of the health of your Eyelash Extensions and eyelashes.

EYELASH LIFT

Please arrive without any eye makeup and avoid oily products around the eye area. This will minimize the clean up time during the appointment and allow more time for lashing! It will also help the adhesive bond better.

The Eyelash Lift/Tint is done while you are lying down with your eyes closed on a spa bed.

First, we cleanse your lashes then apply a primer to ensure proper lifting.

We protect your bottom lashes with a gel eye pad, then apply an Eyelash Shield to your upperlid, and adhere your lashes onto the shield. The lotions are then appied and removed as well as the tint (if tint option is selected). It is a relaxing, non-invasive treatment and most of our clients use the time to nap or listen to music!

Your lift will generally last up to 6-8 weeks depending on your lash growth cycle, daily activities, skincare routine and eyelash care. For some, the lift may last up to 12 weeks. Your lift’s longevity is determined on how you take care of your lashes – espeically within the first 24 hours. Please refer to the FAQ, “What should I know about aftercare?”.

In order for your Eyelash Lift to last, the first 24 hours are the most important, as your lashes are most vulnerable during this period.

Please follow these instructions for the first 24 hours:
– AVOID getting your lashes and surrounding area wet
– AVOID steam, sauna and sweating
– Do NOT rub or pull at lashes
– Do NOT wear any mascara or eye makeup
– Do NOT sleep on stomach, as the lashes are vulnerable to movement
Please follow these instructions after the first 24 hours for a long lasting Eyelash Lift:
– AVOID using waterproof mascaras, as they are drying to the lashes
– AVOID strong heat, such as ovens/BBQs
– Do NOT rub or pull at lashes (especially while cleansing)
– Gently clean eyelashes daily to prevent infection, pat lashes dry, brush with clean spoolie brush
– AVOID eyelash curlers
– Do NOT sleep on your stomach
– It is recommened to brush coconut oil, with a clean spoolie brush, through your lashes at least once a day (after your nightly cleansing routine), to continuously condition and nourish your lashes
There are no guarantees if you fail to take care of the health of your Eyelash Lift.
During the first 24 hours, no. Your eyelashes are the most vulnerable at this stage. If they get wet, the lift is not guaranteed to stay.

After the first 24 hours, yes. Special care is required by being careful and not rubbing your eyes aggressively, but overall maintenance is low. Gently clean eyelashes daily to prevent infection, pat lashes dry, brush with clean spoolie brush.
As long as you treat your natural lashes with care, your Eyelash Lift will not hurt nor damage your natural lashes when done properly.
Your lift will not cause your lashes to fall out, but when your natural lash has reached the end of its growth cycle, it will fall off.
It is recommened to brush coconut oil, with a clean spoolie brush, through your lashes at least once a day (after your nightly cleansing routine), to continuously condition and nourish your lashes.
Depending on your growth cycle, you may reschedule again once you see that your lashes are no longer lifted (meaning, your previous lashes which were lifted, have shedded). This can be anywhere between 6-12 weeks.

The average person had 80-150 lashes per eye.

This explains why one person can go longer with their lifts compared to another. This person may also have more lashes.

There are no guarantees if you fail to take care of the health of your Eyelash Lift.
